When the magical flair of New Orleans hits the UK, it’s probably because of a new store opening by Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen.

Essex residents can now get a taste of the famous “chicken crunch” themselves as the UK’s second Popeyes restaurant opened in Chelmsford on Saturday, June 11. The store opening marked by jazz music all the way to colorful seating arrangements was a resounding success. A peek at the attached video from the opening day will immerse you into the delicious Popeyes world.

In March 2021, Popeyes announced its plans to open 350 restaurants in the UK over the next 10 years. The cities of Reading, Gateshead, Oxford, Nottingham, Ealing, Brighton, Romford, among others, will get to enjoy the legendary 12-hour marinated fried chicken. Popeyes has also opened other “take away” restaurants in various London boroughs, including Bermondsey, Maida Vale, and Whitechapel.
